Songho Beach in detail

Songho Beach: a summer festival during the beach season

While the beach is open for swimming, a summer festival is held with fireworks shows, a song contest, performances, sand sculpture exhibits, and hands-on events. It is a beach at the southernmost tip of the Korean Peninsula, and it was once selected as an excellent beach nationwide.

Songho Beach: a Monument pine grove on the embankment and a campground

The pine trees, 100–200 years old, that line the embankment behind the sand are a Monument designated by Jeonnam-Gwangju Special Metropolitan City. You can rest in the shade of the pine grove, and the nearby Ttangkkeut Auto Campground offers campsites and caravans. The beach's name also comes from its old pine trees and its waves as calm as a lake.
