Yun Jae-un Old House in Yeondong-ri, Haenam: inner quarters with an 1872 ridge-beam record
The house was built in 1872, the 9th year of King Gojong, by the great-grandfather of Yun Jae-un, the current owner. The ridge-beam record of the inner quarters carries the date '同治 十一年 壬申 二月 十三日', which shows the year it was built. The great-grandfather who built it held the post of royal secretary, and the house is Haenam County Local Cultural Heritage Site No. 10.
Yun Jae-un Old House in Yeondong-ri, Haenam: a house with a 4-bay gatehouse and 5-bay inner quarters remaining
The house once had a gatehouse, men's quarters, a storehouse and inner quarters, but only the 4-bay gatehouse and the 5-bay inner quarters remain. It sits in the middle of Yeondong Village, on an open site between Ongnyeobong Peak in front and Deogeumsan Mountain behind. The inner quarters are a single-row building with a wooden-floored hall between the rooms and a hip-and-gable roof, and a frame reading 'Room of the Upright Mind (正心室)' hangs on the side.
