Ttangkkeut Sculpture Park in detail
Ttangkkeut Sculpture Park: the 'Ttangkkeut Giyeok Art Museum' in the park
Inside the park is the 'Ttangkkeut Giyeok Art Museum', which mainly shows photographs, paintings and calligraphy by artists working in Haenam. The 26 outdoor sculptures were made by senior and well-known Korean artists to capture the spirit of Haenam. Set on a low hill, the works look more three-dimensional. source 1
Ttangkkeut Sculpture Park: the rocking marble sculpture 'Swimming' and the abstract sculpture 'Birth'
Jeon Roe-jin's marble work 'Swimming' rocks when you press the fish's head or tail up or down. It expresses a life in which people and creatures play together. Choe Gi-won's granite sculpture 'Birth' abstractly expresses the moment new life bursts out from within an object. Both works were installed in 2003. source 1
Ttangkkeut Sculpture Park: works along the stairs and a rest area on the hilltop
Works also stand on both sides of the stairs, and there are rest areas such as benches at the top of the park. From the hill, you can see Ttangkkeut Observatory across the sea. Going from Ttangkkeut Village toward Wando, you will see a large sign, so it is easy to find. source 2
