Celadon Kiln Sites in Jinsan-ri, Haenam, early Goryeo kiln sites scattered on seaside hills
A kiln site means the spot where a kiln that fired ceramics, roof tiles or bowls once stood. In Jinsan-ri, more than 100 kiln sites that fired celadon in the early Goryeo period are clustered on low hills right by the sea, but seawater has worn many of them away, so the exact number is hard to count. What sets them apart is that they sit on coastal hills, unlike kiln sites in other regions, which are mostly inland.
